The second season concludes. A visit to husband-and-wife wedding planners for Florence’s pending nuptials is interrupted by discovery of the husband’s (stabbed) body. Evidence leads the brigade to a cowboy, a hidden past, a cold case, and an unexpected culprit. Meanwhile, Charlie and April continue to meet on the sly. Charlie moons over Chris. Samy makes a career decision. Florence and Vince tie the knot. Chris returns Charlie’s feelings, but they get a discomfiting surprise.

I keep having to remind myself that Mademoiselle Holmes is not a reboot/reimagining of Sherlock Holmes, but a ‘next generation,’ there’s no Charlie & Samy canon.
Talk about unexplored B stories: Florence and Vince’s romance is given zero development.

Tu l'as bien mouchée, ‘You blew his nose well’ (7’40”), means ‘well, you showed him.’
11’07”: The other post-its read, ‘I love you more than you can imagine,’ and ‘Every day, life is beautiful by your side.’
We finally see the name of the Roys’s business, Éternel Jour J (12’29”). While Jour J has historically meant ‘D-Day,’ when it comes to weddings it means ‘the big day.’ I think it’s reasonable to translate Éternel Jour J as ‘Big Day Forever.’
When Samy started writing his Watsonian work about Charlie, it was a report for his internship. Now it’s a mémoire (12’49”). I’ve always called it a report or paper, now– because it’s going to be published (12’55”)-- I guess I have to call it a manuscript.
Rue de Guérande (19’30”) is a real street in Nantes, just off the Place Royale. And there is a jewelry store there, Mauboussin.
23’02”: I didn’t actually hear her say égoïste (22’44”). She says Oui at 23’06”-- but her lips don’t move.
Florence, referring to Thomas’s final minutes, says Ouais, mais il est en train de craquer le pauvre vieux, ‘Yeah, but he was already cracking, poor guy’ (23’34”). I think she’s saying that he was fading.
Charlie learns a potential suspect il a un restaurant du côté Trentemoult, ‘has a restaurant on the Trentemoult side’ (24’57”). It’s in a district on the other side of the Loire.
Mouche is ‘fly’ (as in insect), mouchée is ‘blow/blown,’ and now we see mouchard is ‘bug’ (as in surveillance device). Here (27’02”) it means ‘tracker’ (as in geolocation).
Utilitaire (30’24”) is short for vehicule utilitaire, ‘utility vehicle.’ Camion is usually ‘van’ and only sometimes ‘truck’; since it’s for moving I’m putting ‘van.’ I suppose I could use ‘ute,’ but I don't know how common that is.
Suspect Antoine interjects something that sounds like fareuse or faleuse (37’45”), which aren’t words, or vareuse (a type of shirt or jacket). Fait ruse, ‘do trick,’ might mean ‘Is this a trick?’ But that should be Est-ce un piège? I’m skipping it.
41’56”: Charlie reads about the old hit & run, l'accident s'est produit juste à côté du château, the accident happened right next to the house. I thought she meant the Roys’s chateau. But soon (43’08”) she says the accident was 20 km from the Roys. So the first house must be the Romanos’s, so I'm changing 'the house' to 'their house.'

Apparently tenir le crachoir, ‘hold the spitoon,’ (49’48”) means ‘to hold the floor.’ I’m not calling this a Florence-ism though, because it’s a recognized idiom and not something metaphorical she made up. If this were in the US I’d translate it as ‘filibuster.’
Florence says something to Vince that is obscured by clapping (50’26”), but it sounds like nous nocé, which would be ‘we’re married.’ There is a lot of crowd noise in this scene. I did my best.

Thank you for the English translations of Mademoiselle Holmes and HPI. Just finished watching the 2nd season of Holmes and now onto the 5th season of HPI.
