The penultimate episode opens with Morgane much relieved: not only does she get to move on to the oral section of the police exam, Judge Lefolet has closed the Laëtitia investigation. But she’s quietly opened a file on Karadec.
The squad is in the woods, and it’s not a metaphor, responding to a call about a drowning. They don’t want the case because the victim is lying on the border with Belgium, shades of The Bridge. As luck would have it the victim managed a luxury hotel in Bruges, so guess who gets to go ‘investigate’ it.

The episode ends with Karadec facing the consequences for his well-intentioned but unnecessary and premeditated actions to cover for Morgane. Will the series conclude with roles reversed, Morgane the cop and Karadec on the outside?

NOTES
Gilles mentions a family reunion at Phare Aventura, ‘Aventura Lighthouse’ (4’09”), which doesn’t seem to exist. I’m thinking it’s supposed to be Fuerteventura, which is one of the Canary Islands.
Posé un lapin, ‘posed a rabbit’ (6’32”), means to stand somebody up.
Radiation (9’17”) means ‘radiation,’ but also ‘removal/struck off’-- being fired. In the police it’s called sanction disciplinaire de radiation.
Retraite (10’06”) means ‘retire,’ but in this context I’m putting ‘lay low.’
Leuven (13’46” c.f.) is a city of 100,000 people, 8 miles east of Brussels.
OQT (full acronym OQTF) is ‘Obligation to Leave French Territory,’ an expulsion order.
17’37”: The Clos d’Artemis entrance and valet parking is in reality the front of the Major Seminary at 72 Potterierei in Bruges. The 15th century complex is next to the Church of the Virgin Mary, and houses a number of organizations.
The interior of the Clos d’Artemis is actually the Hôtel du Couvent des Minimes in Lille.
18’08”: When Karadec identifies himself he begins with pas vendre avec (not sell with), which I take means something like ‘drop the sales pitch.’
18’16”: Morgane speedtalks rien qui justifie que Monsieur s'intéresser/interessé/intérêt ___, ‘nothing that justifies the gentleman being interested ____.’ The blank sounds like ‘news.’ Or nousse, which isn’t a word. Mousse? Intérêt ca mousse can mean ‘getting started/picking up.’
The look of Morgane’s poolside gathering (23’08”) is reminiscent of the tableaus found in Peter Greenaway films.

Le Grand-Bornand (35’03”) is a resort town at the base of the alps near Annecy.

Abidjan (38’28”) is the big urban center in Ivory Coast.
Brouteur is a ‘grazer’ or ‘browser,’ on the internet it’s a scam artist, someone who grazes on victims. A female internet scammer is a brouteuse (39’34”), a term (probably derogatory) which used to just mean ‘lesbian.’
There is only one Houthem (41’20”) in Belgium, only 10 miles north of Lille. The other candidate is Houthem near Maastricht, but it’s in the Netherlands.
De saisir la perche (41’59”) means ‘grab the pole,’ a metaphorical pole you’d extend to pull someone out of metaphorical trouble, such as metaphorical quicksand.
Celine mentions a lawyer specializing in what sounds like chambre verre cases (43’35”), which would be ‘glass room.’ It sounds like public corruption law, but I can’t find such a French term in the real world.
44’21”: Article 222-32 of the penal code defines exhibitionism, aka indecent exposure.
Fnac, Fédération nationale des achats pour cadres (National Purchasing Federation for Executives, 51’44”), is a national media/electronics retailer. It sounds like Best Buy.
Morgane’s mind projection: Belgian cop says something-something volontaire (52’10”), which I assume amounts to ‘come quietly.’
